If you miss the sun (as I), some pictures from Saint Barth and the Saint Jean Beach near the airport.

Just fantastic…

Spring since 5 days, really?

I had a look at the weather forecast for our region this afternoon.

It looks really … great.

Hope it is better for you…

Saint Barth – Part XXIV

Oups, I have forgotten “’Anse des Cayes” where we have taken some pictures the day we have flown back.

Impressive light this day, with a lot of wind and big waves.

Very nice beach, not really for bathing / swimming ;-)

Saint Barth – Part XXIII

During our last day on the island, we have walked around the Toiny beach. Still quite windy, but again some fantastic and wild landscapes!

I like very much this picture of my son, looking at Saint Barth, in the wind.

This part of Saint Barth is really cool!

Saint Barth – Part XXII

Although we are back from paradise/Saint Barth, and fully jetlagged, I would like to continue for a while to publish some posts, in order to finish this “Saint Barth 2009 series”.

The last two days in St Barth were quite windy and consequently, we have decided to have a walk on the “wild” coast of St Barth. Completely different landscapes there, you should understand rapidly the reason of the name “wild” ;-)

Our first walk was around the Grand Fond Bay.

For some pictures, it looks a bit like … Ireland ;-)

A video will also follow!

Saint Barth – Part XXI

We had our best dinner in Saint Barth at the Eden Rock restaurant. Nice people, nice food & wine, crazy view on the Saint Jean Bay. Perfect!

Saint Barth – Part XIX

From the Do Brazil restaurant in Saint Barth, for the lunch. I don’t know so many restaurants with such kind of views on a beach (actually it is Shell Beach) ;-) Very nice people there, good food for reasonable price. Recommended by the whole family for lunch and/or dinner!

(Yes, my son is playing with his/my PSP after the ice-cream ;-)

Saint Barth – Part XVIII

And now, some sunsets, taken from our villa and from the Gustavia lighthouse.

Pure Caribbean colors, crazy…

Saint Barth – Part XVII

The garden of our villa is quite interesting. Lots of - for some of them huge! - cactus.

Saint Barth – Part XVI

The villa we have rented is well-positioned, near Pointe-Milou, above the Christopher hotel.

Have a look on the Googlemap below, the villa is marked with an “A”:

Saint Barth – Part XV

Some pictures taken from our snorkeling session in Colombier Bay with a Canon IXUS 700 and a waterproof case WP-DC70. As I have read, it is not so easy to take good pictures underwater… Anyway, a first try!

I have tried to find out what I have seen ;-) Not always 100% sure. So if you see something wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me.

Saint Barth – Part XIV

Surely our favorite beach in Saint Barth, Colombier Bay. You have to walk about 20’ to access the beach, with some fantastic views on the ocean. And there, a marvelous place for snorkeling! Some underwater pictures to come!

Arriving at the beach…

Saint Barth – Part XI

The business and financial crisis seems not to have a big impact here in St Barth, at least in the Gustavia’s port. Have a look at the boats. AND some of them cannot enter the port, as they are longer than 62m, which is the max in this harbor…

Saint Barth – Part X

In one week, we had about 5 minutes of rain. But then, it is raining really like cats and dogs!

Tropical shower :-)

Saint Barth – Part IX

And today, Saline Beach, I think the largest in Saint Barth. Very nice actually, we like it a lot! Some pictures and as usual now, a video (a bit longer this time) realized with MS Windows Movie Maker. It is not Adobe Premiere for sure, but not sooo bad for a small sequence.
